Lion Family at Murchison Falls

While on a game drive, in Murchison Falls National Park, we came upon a lion family that was sharing an area with a small group of Cape Buffalo... considered to be among the most dangerous animals in Africa (along with Hippos and Crocodiles). Lions, usually a pack, are mortal enemies of the Cape Buffalo.

So, mom and dad lions kept a sharp eye on the buffalo and the buffalo were very wary of the lion family. We watched the 2 groups for about 30 minutes.

More and more vehicles heard about the siting and arrived. All the vehicles made the lions nervous, so they retreated carefully. As they did the buffalo made a short charge at them, stopping short, but making their point. It was a very interesting experience!

Hi there,
I arrived home safely. You have some nice pics on your blog! I was wondering if you put together the cd of yours and Andrew's safari pics. Just because we are going to the states this weekend and I thought it may be cheaper to send them to the hotel than to my home address. If it does not work it's fine. Also, I realized I don't have many pictures of the town of Jinja and I thought if you'd have some if I would be able to get those as well. Thanks a bunch, Shana
