Lion Family at Murchison Falls

While on a game drive, in Murchison Falls National Park, we came upon a lion family that was sharing an area with a small group of Cape Buffalo... considered to be among the most dangerous animals in Africa (along with Hippos and Crocodiles). Lions, usually a pack, are mortal enemies of the Cape Buffalo.

So, mom and dad lions kept a sharp eye on the buffalo and the buffalo were very wary of the lion family. We watched the 2 groups for about 30 minutes.

More and more vehicles heard about the siting and arrived. All the vehicles made the lions nervous, so they retreated carefully. As they did the buffalo made a short charge at them, stopping short, but making their point. It was a very interesting experience!

We're Back Home!

The Palm Tree Guest House in Jinja, Uganda

We returned home safely late Thursday afternoon to the Twin Cities - tired, but thankful for a wonderful visit with our daughter. I will be uploading new pictures and posts to cover what we did on our trip. We LOVED Uganda and the people we met. It was so great to see our daughter, Rachel, and see what she and her friend, Arielle, are doing here with orphan children in Uganda and Sudan.

I will also post links to Picasa Web Photo Albums - where you will be able to view a slide show.

Check back for more links. If you subscribe to the Blog, (see at the bottom of the Blog page) you will be notified of new posts.
